How do the Invisalign Invisible Aligners Work?
The Invisalign invisible aligners involve two steps. First, you have your consultation with Dr. Perry, a certified Top 1% Diamond Invisalign Orthodontist. During this consultation, your dentist takes a precise 3D digital scan of your teeth using an iTero Element® scanner. After this, the dentist uses the sophisticated ClinCheck software perfect for customizing a plan that shapes your new smile, specific to your needs and aesthetic goals.
Once your plan is in place, the custom clear aligners are constructed at Invisalign’s 3D printing facility. At your first fitting, your dentist checks the aligners to ensure they are precise and comfortable.

Invisalign attachments, also known as Invisalign SmartForce attachments, are tiny pieces of dental bonding material which apply additional force to help focus the patient’s treatment plan while better controlling teeth movement. When your treatment is complete you are given an Invisalign Vivera retainer, which is also clear. As with the aligners, you’ll wear the retainer nearly full time at first but will gradually taper your retainer wear time. Eventually, you’ll wear the retainer only while sleeping.
It can vary from one patient to another, based on the complexity of the case and your specific bite problems. The average wear time is around 12-18 month.
You should always remove Invisalign when you eat and drink as food and liquid can stain or damage your aligners while chewing.
